Gig Information

07:17 Records proudly presents critically acclaimed legendary Canadian Poet Musician C.R. Avery, on his first Official Tour, live in Aotearoa New Zealand.

World Class Live Experience Direct from Canada
Humour, Music, and Words Upfront & Personal

Prepare to be enchanted as you dive headfirst into the back pocket history of C.R. Avery’s alluringly seductive and stunningly beautiful adventures with ease. ‘Fightin’ Words and a Girl Named Mercy’ is a ‘not to be missed’ journey. No holds barred, seek to find tragedy, comedy, romance, and reality, in a vulnerable, inspirational, and sensational display, where few walk away without feeling swept off their feet.

“After you’ve been entertained by a 30 minute cabaret opening set from New Zealand's finest local legends and slam champion poets, then bam! Get ready and buckle up.

C.R. Avery will take to the stage to unleash a fury of talent that will transcend any performance space into a post war Paris after midnight at the height of freewheeling jazz, or a San Fran coffee house filled with the Beat Generation of the mid 1950s, then the next minute you’re in a smoky Greenwich village folk club during its heyday in the early 60’s, and of course you’ll find yourself in the middle of the spoken word revolution during the late 90’s in Chicago.

With Avery weaving storytelling through every genre of music, moving from piano to guitar to alone at the mic with his harmonica, an hour from C.R. seems like mere moments have passed, after being in the presence of a master of the art form who has debated his life to the trade of transforming a room into inspiration and wonder. “
