Just when you thought it was safe to ditch your dancing shoes, Dash Ripshaw makes the return to the stage. Joined by folk super star, Beans Maries, and reggae (with a bit of surf for good measure) songsters, Bush Lawyer. We’ll be tearing up your Wednesday night at everyone’s favourite music institution (Valhalla) from 7pm. $10 on the door.
Beans Maries - UK born singer songwriter Beans, blends gentle indie folk sounds with a unique lyrical style. Their original songs are rich with humour, honesty and carefully crafted word play, borne of a love of language combined with a vibrant inner world. They gained international acclaim in 2021 as a finalist in the Liverpool International Song Contest, and have since performed at small venues and festivals around Queensland, Australia. A newcomer to the Wellington scene, they are making gentle waves in acoustic folk circles.
Bush Lawyer -
Bush Lawyer are a four-piece groove machine bringing rock-reggae tunes out of Te-Whanganui-ā-Tara Wellington.
Catchy melodies, tight harmonies and more strums on the offbeat than you might hear at Homegrown! You’re in for a treat with their danceable, singalong sound.
Dash Ripshaw -
Catchy? Surfy? Punky? Alt-pop that’s pretty much just what was happening in the 90s? Yes, yes, yes, and yes! Dash Ripshaw perform quirky ditties with trebly guitars and grimey bass lines.
