Pianist Ayrton Foote is in charge of this week's Thursday jazz session at Hashigo Zake. As well as Ayrton's trio, there's every chance that other great musicians will join in.
But this week there is much, much more, because the evening is also a fundraiser to help those affected by Cyclone Gabrielle. All bar takings between 7pm and 8pm, plus a percentage of the rest of the day's takings, will be donated to Te Poho o Rawiri Marae in Gisborne, where they're feeding locals, hiring equipment and generally helping some of those worst affected by the Cyclone.

There's no cover charge, but plenty of opportunities to contribute to the fundraising!
