Girls Rock Aotearoa is proud to present: Pathways To The Front & Friends, a free, all-ages gig at Big Fan on March 4. The night will feature performances from Coast Arcade, Devious & Cheeky, Hiri, The Rues and spdrtwnbby. Doors at 8pm, limited capacity.
This is a for-youth, by-youth gig created by participants in the Pathways To The Front Gig Workshop Series run by Gussie Larkin (Mermaidens/Earth Tongue) and Rachel Ashby (95bFM Breakfast). All the bands feature Pathways participants, or are members of the wider To The Front community.
Across three workshops online and at The Vault, participants have learnt from industry professionals how to book bands, liaise with artists and the venue, promote the event and run the gig on the night including managing sound, lights and front of house. Participation in this workshop series has been free thanks to Auckland City of Music, Big Fan and the Vault.
This workshop series is part of our new Girls Rock Aotearoa programme Pathways: To The Front, an ongoing series of workshops, panel discussions, and events designed to help illuminate paths for music beyond high school for young women, trans, intersex, takatāpui, and gender diverse youth aged 16 to 19.
