Pōneke's favourite live arts festival is returning to the Wellington Waterfront occupying a new site at Whairepo Lagoon and Odlin’s Plaza, with some events branching further afield into the surrounding landscape, a barge, an overbridge, and into Wellington City itself.
The Live Music programme has been curated by The Performance Arcade’s Music Curator, Reuben Topzand, to showcase the depth and breadth of musical talent on offer in Aotearoa. Genres span from acoustic indie soloists to boundary-pushing DJ’s to fast-paced Brazilian funk. The unique setting of Whairepo Lagoon will allow music lovers to gather at the water's edge or in the outdoor seating of nearby St John’s Bar and Karaka Cafe to enjoy a jam-packed programme of free, open-air concerts.
The Performance Arcade 2023 full programme is out now with 14 Performance Art experiences and a rich evening Music Series, all completely free for the public to enjoy. Open 11am-10pm daily, come enjoy the spontaneous explosions of art over one jam-packed week on the Waterfront, 22-26 February.
