Hi-Fi Sci-Fi are psyched to unveil their second venture into the realm of live events and their first curated pop up shop over two dates in Tamaki Makaurau & Poneke this February.
Sonically manning the ship is outer-national producer/DJ Reptant who will be performing a pulsing live set of lizard tek for the first time in Aotearoa. Hailing from Naarm/Melbourne, Reptant, an alias of the young producer Lucas Hatzisavas (Aka Lou Karsh) is one of Australia’s leading figures in the Australian underground electronic scene delivering a versatile and unique take on Electro. With successful releases on label’s around the world from Europe to the UK and Canada, Reptant has released an impressive discography of 12” EP’s and singles as well as releasing and selling out his first full length LP ‘Return To Planet X’trapolis’ on his own label LKR Records, becoming some-what of a household name within the worldwide underground Electro scene.
More recently Reptant has released an EP on Viennese Electro imprint TRUST (est 1998) arguably one of the most important electro labels of this century, Titled ‘Halls Of Perception’ Reptant showcases an even further developed cutting edge sound sound that brings a modern perspective to the genre whilst retaining it’s fundamental guidelines. Reptant’s live set has brought a great deal of attention to him, pushing the boundaries of hardware and analog devices within a small un-compromised footprint. Armed with only a few machines and effects Reptant is able to cover wide ground bringing complex grooves and futuristic otherworldly textures together at top of big crowd pleasing acidic baselines and other techy rhythms. Reptant has been performing in nightclubs and festivals on a global scale with 36 shows across Europe in only 4 months in 2022 and with his latest live set Reptant is able to showcase his signature sound in fullest fidelity.
