Oceanspace and Where Water Meets are sharing the stage in Napier. Come to Paisley stage on March 9th for a night spanning the sublime to the psychedelic.
7:30pm doors, music from 8pm.
OceanSpace is best known for their fusion of electronic dance music with psychedelic surf rock, but that’s not all. The group’s original music uses elements of specifically engineered sounds using Solfeggio Frequencies scientifically proven to facilitate health and well being.
Described as an ‘intricate, complex but warm-hug kind of experience’, Where Water Meets are chamber-folk duo Emily Sheppard (violin/viola/vocals) and Yyan Ng (guitar/vocals). Touring New Zealand for the first time, they are bringing music from their critically acclaimed first album River Islands, with songs and tunes inspired by the Tasmanian wilderness. They combine alternatively tuned guitars, violins and violas with ethereal vocals to create shimmering, visual worlds both Tasmanian and interstellar.
Where Water Meets are a sought after chamber-folk duo based on the island in the far south of Australia. They have toured extensively around Tasmania and mainland Australia, presented by festivals including the National Folk Festival, Cygnet Folk Festival, MONA FOMA and Beaker Street Science Festival. They have been the recipients of multiple rounds of Arts Tasmania and Inspire Australia funding, and with this support have created and presented diverse work that engages with place, community, history and science. Their composition Brown Mountain won the 2019 Folk Federation of Tasmania’s tune writing award.
'Intensely raw, sweet, ethereal. Transcending time and place, connecting the same.'
Jane Hepple
'Re-affirming of one's deeper self, values and place on this 'small blue dot'.'
