The 2 October show features Bill Lake, Dave Murphy and Janet Muggeridge and Marmalady.
Bill Lake - A rare live performance by a living legend of Wellington music. Bill has been a major figure in the Wellington music scene across half a century; from the Windy City Strugglers starting in the late 1960s, through to the Pelicans and Living Daylights in the 1980s, and his solo albums “Home Truths” (1996) and “As is Where is” (2017). Often working in partnership with the late Arthur Baysting, Bill has written some of Wellington musics classic songs. “At a board meeting of the stalwarts of Wellington’s R&B scene, Bill Lake would sit near the top of the table.” - AudioCulture .
Dave Murphy and Janet Muggeridge - Dave and Janet play their own brand of originals, underpinned by Murphy’s driving fingerstyle acoustic guitar, and huge earthy vocals. Muggeridge adds to the mix shimmering harmonies and mandolin played in her own style. Together they have a formidable skill set, and present their repertoire that will have your emotions tugged in every way.
.
Marmalady - Marmalady, who once played under the alias 'Puku Belle', plays folk-style acoustic guitar and sings sweet, soothing melodies. You will hear influences of jazz, indie and folk in her music and be taken on a laid back journey through the many expressions of her mind. You will laugh, sway and have a chance to reflect through some of her more melancholic numbers. Marmalady's music is sure to make you smile. Smooth, sweet music to warm your soul
