Three local acts with recently released tunes in a seated show at Moon!
Birdfeeder are an indie art pop trio with a psychedelic slant, whose music is full of surprising shifts and unearthly melodies. Their debut EP The Vile Isle, released in January, has invited comparisons to acts as varied as Carnivorous Plant Society and the Dresden Dolls. Birdfeeder's music is also accompanied by a lush and mysterious visual world, as seen in their video for 'Banana Boxes' (2020) and their theatrical show The Veiled Isle, which received a nomination for 'Most Innovative Work' in this year's NZ Fringe.
Once You Know is something of a supergroup, featuring members of Solo Ono, Diving and Uncle Silverback. Their self-titled debut EP, released in November 2021, spans a wide palette from sparse dream pop to powerful, raucous rock'n'roll.
Greta O'Leary is a solo alt-folk artist with a unique and unmistakable voice. Her debut single, the atmospheric 'Outnumbered', has been a minor sensation on student radio since its release in February. Blending ancestral undertones with precise insight, Greta's music is rich and penetrating.
