Simultaneously a celebration and a farewell, the aptly named Jensen, Jellyman, Yeabsley, Boulton will release their upcoming new album and also say goodbye to one of their bandmates on Thursday 14th April at Bedlam and Squalor.
Dayle Jellyman (piano), Mike Jensen (drums) and Dan Yeabsley (upright bass) are well - seasoned members of the local Wellington jazz community having had a long musical relationship over many years as rhythm section for many bands and projects.
Joining them is young lion, Alexander “Honey” Boulton on guitar, another mainstay in the local scene (and one of the best dressed musicians around) to play through a collection of original compositions penned by both Mike and Alex, about people and places from their lives.
Alexander’s lyrical style on the guitar makes each melody “sing” and he fits seamlessly into the established trio. It's a bittersweet occasion for the group as Alexander moves permanently to the UK in May to pursue music and adventure - so come along and help the band celebrate their new album before he leaves for good.
