Nahbo -
NahBo is a character designed by te-Whanganui-a-Tara-based performer Taranaki Ah Young-Grace (of Ngati Ruanui, Ngati Tuwharetoa, Samoa, China, UK, Ireland, Germany, and France) who they say is an Astronesian native traversing and lamenting the realities of colonisation and capitalism after being shot back over 300 years in time into the body of a human born in 1993. The sonic aesthetic of NahBo relies heavily on Taranaki's time studying vocals in the jazz performance course at the University of Auckland as well as their love for neo-soul, indie rap, hip hop, DIY shit, and sticking it to the man.

Hybrid Rose -
Her 2019 single “Heaven Spills” from her third independently released album “Awkwardly Eccentric” has reached over 275,000+ views on Youtube, charted at #14 on Norway’s iTunes Charts with Solitude, also topping the NZ Student Radio charts for 3 weeks, making this her biggest commercial success to date. Her 2020 single “Mr. Spaceman” featuring Christchurch-based Hip Hop/Rap artist “And$um” was praised by blogs like Sniffers and featured on Apple Music’s “New Music Daily” playlist. Another single, ‘Plaztique’, in collaboration with Dan Konopka from the Grammy Award-winning band ‘OK Go’, and NZ-Based musician Georgie Kirton, was licensed for Season 3 of Māori television show “Ahikāroa”.
In late 2020, Hybrid Rose went on a break from releasing music. In early 2021, her debut release ‘Video Games’ went viral on TikTok, accumulating 4+ million views from being used in 8,000+ TikToks. This inspired a comeback album, bringing back her signature video game aesthetic for late 2021.

Japes -
Japes is the alias of Pōneke based songwriter, producer, and DJ Mia Kelly. Coming from a background in sonic art and angsty guitar music, she creates dreamy electronic music, using the sounds of the world around her to create eclectic beats to present the twists and turns of her stories.
She started releasing music under the name in late 2020, with a remix of Transistor’s single “Nothing New”. This was followed by the release of the EP “JUNK”, a four track EP which showcases her use of experimental production within the realm of indie-pop. She also contributed a track to Strange Behavior’s latest ambient compilation album, and is a regular on their radio show on Radio Active.FM
Aside from Japes, she has released spatial audio and electroacoustic works under her own name, being featured on a Works for Loudspeakers compilation, and the “Waterfront Monophony” sound installation which was performed on the Wellington Waterfront earlier this year. She is currently working on a new EP and starting to pop up at gigs around the city, spreading sonic morsels and twisted tales.
