What would it sound like if we could hear the universe’s improvisations and movements as music? Join guitarist and composer Heather Webb and her band as they present RESOLVE - new jazz compositions inspired by Webb’s recent study of astrophysics.
Described as energetic, imaginative, dynamic, gentle and moving, “an engaging blend of scientific and musical nerdery,” this second intimate performance of this remarkable show is not to be missed.
Heather Webb is a guitarist, composer, and educator, highly active in the Aotearoa jazz and theatre scenes. She leads her own groups, The Stick!, Triangulation and Resolve, is a regular member of the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, The Free Theatre, The Court Theatre and Showbiz and has performed at multiple NZ Jazz Festivals and Arts Festivals. Her latest published original work received high acclaim, featuring on RNZ’s Best of NZ Jazz list and reviewed as, “evocatively atmospheric ‘Replay’ … glides between her and keyboards with a leisurely confidence which is both gentle but often on the precipice of unresolved tension. It's a standout.”
