Alt-pop rockers PIPSY celebrate their return to the shores of Aotearoa with a nation-wide ‘The Hopeful Sounds Tour’ this January 2021, announcing 7 shows from Wellington to Invercargill. The band bring their energetic brand of fuzz-pop to both main centres and smaller cities, including two shows opening for the Jordan Luck Band in Central Otago. During this jaunt through the North and South Islands, the band plans to roll out new songs from a forthcoming album.
Originally formed by singer-songwriter Paul Pouwels McMillan in Melbourne Australia, the group includes an all-star lineup of drummer Jordan Cossill (Murgatroyd), bassist Hanna Ott (Filth Wizard), and guitarist Dylan Walker (Ragged).
The band has been described as ‘exploding with jangly and infectious indie-rock hooks’ (Happy Magazine SYD), and ‘foot-tapping, high energy, indie surf pop punk’ (NZ Musician). PIPSY have released three critically acclaimed EPs, toured Australia extensively, and have been awarded NZ On Air New Tracks awards for four of their singles, including a New Music Single award.
The tour begins with opening slots for the legendary Jordan Luck Band in Central Otago, and concludes late January, in Wellington and Palmerston North. Book your tickets today!
