The infestive festive season is approaching, and there’s no better way to celebrate than with some festive festivities! Come along on the 18th of December to the Auckland Old Folks Hall (8 Gundry Street) to listen to live music performed by 4 groups of local Auckland musicians. The lineup consists of Wax Chattels, Caught Inside, Ballot Box, and Junebug. Doors open at 7, and music starts at 7:30. Early bird tickets are $15, final week tickets are $18, and door sales are $20.
Wax Chattels describe themselves as “guitarless guitar music”, being former jazz students turned into a live-wire post-punk trio.
Caught Inside are a young up-and-coming indie surf-pop band, coming off the release of their debut EP, “Get Down in Clown Town”.
Ballot Box are a four-piece delivering music with intertwined guitar riffs and fractured rhythms, while still locked into the driving nature of post-punk.
Junebug is the pseudonym of Izzy Christie, a young singer-songwriter focused on personal and confessional-style compositions, inspired by musicians like Mazzy Star and Elliot Smith.
