Gig Information

Home Alone Music are proud to present the national tour of Lake South's sophomore album, 'Wellington | Te Upoko O Te Ika'.

Lake South performs electricUTOPIA music with midi triggers, guitar, and voice – along with live drums from Eddie Crawshaw (Sheep, Dog & Wolf, Bonaparte). In 2017, Lake South released his first album 'If You're Born On An Island The Ocean Heals You' to critical acclaim.

'A well-written dream' – NZ Musician Magazine
'Nostalgic, elegiac synth-pop meditations on what it means to be a 20/30-something in modern Aotearoa' – National Library of NZ
'Complex, interesting, prematurely nostalgic . . . yet capturing the zeitgeist for his generation' – Elsewhere Music blog
'This underrated artist is a titantic talent' – The Revue.ca
'Smart lyrics, tasteful synth and a distinct New Zealand accent' – The Wild Honey Pie

'Wellington | Te Upoko O Te Ika' is an album that explores one person's interpretation of place. A web app has been created to allow people to listen to the songs in the places they sing about. You can experience Lake South's 'Wellington' now, here: https://lake-south.com/wellington

Instead of physical albums, a set of 11 postcards will be available at live shows. Each postcard represents a song/place/sentiment.

Lake has been long-listed for the Silver Scrolls twice and was a Critics' Choice finalist in the 2014 NZ Vodafone Music Awards.
