Select Music presents a one off Auckland summer show to celebrate what has been an incredible year for kiwi act Miss June.
Whammy Bar 8th December, Miss June will be joined by the irreputibley talented P.H.F and Wellington’s very own Bad Friend.
Miss June is a high-energy 4 piece monster which burst onto the NZ music scene with the release of their intensely unapologetic punk EP ‘Matriarchy’. They've toured fervently off the back of this 10-minute-long ear punch, sharing the stage with artists such as Foo Fighters, Shellac, Shonen Knife, The D4, Die! Die! Die! And many more keen to harness their support.
The group, led by Annabel Liddell, has been described as “some unholy union between Sonic Youth and Le Tigre”. Combining elements of punk, no-wave and rock they create a sound with melodic hooks and fast driven riffs that are immediately recognisable and entirely their own.
Their latest single ‘Twitch’ split hairs worldwide, and their hotly anticipated debut album is set to wipe the fuzz off your lip indefinitely. Now is the perfect time to catch them before everyone else does.
