Charcoal Burners, specifically Andrew Spittle and Shane Gilchrist, two musicians who, having returned to Dunedin in recent years, formed after a beer and a chat just over a year ago.
Their collective experience encompasses a range of ensembles over the years, including Das Phaedrus, Dating Godot, All Red Cables, Cynthia Should, The Five Tens and The Broken Heartbreakers.
Utilising a twin-guitar, twin-vocal approach, the duo have built up a strong collection of original material, of which nine songs feature on their self-titled debut album, out now.
country/folk,
