Gig Information

Kia Ora Wellington! :)

Cricket Farm are touring this summer in support of our debut 'Bending Spoons', and we're stoked to be playing The Third Eye, with support from Wellington favourite Nikita 雅涵 Tu-Bryant.

We play music for hopeless romantic conspiracy theorists; illuminati & reptilians most welcome.

'Hard truths sung in a soft voice, accompanied by plucky Chet Atkins inspired nylon string guitar and ukulele; and coloured with clarinet, Django-esque gypsy jazz guitar, & weird buzzy electric guitar.'

Charming indie-folk/gypsy jazz three-piece Cricket Farm are proud to announce their North Island Tour, in support of their debut offering, ‘Bending Spoons’. The Auckland-based trio perform an intimate and entertaining show, featuring finely crafted songs, varied instrumentation, an excellent stage presence, and plenty of audience interaction.

Described by the band as “music for hopeless romantic conspiracy theorists”, Cricket Farm’s debut offering, Bending Spoons is a thoughtful and sweet-toned body of work.
Made up of multi-disciplinary artist Hayley Robertson, Sims Ross (Yebiisu, The Murderchord) and Joel Vinsen (Callum Gentleman, Panhandlers, Ijebu Pleasure Club), Cricket Farm pull together their eclectic mix of musical influences to create a vibrant and sunny 12-track album that combines elements of indie-folk and gypsy jazz with all the raw honesty of punk.

“The album is the odds and ends of our combined mental note taking. It’s very simple....just sifting metaphysical gunk.”
- Hayley Robertson

‘Cricket Farm sing so sweetly but then there are these intense lyrics. And their dynamic on stage is magic. It’s just really good. No really. I’m serious. It is really just very good’
- Rohan Evans (Wine Cellar)

‘One of the best shows & audience rapport I’ve seen here; reminds me of the Nukes’
- Audience member at Eggsentric Cafe Whitianga

‘What the f*** is that instrument the singer played and rapped to' that is the singularly most brilliant performance of a piece of music by one person that I've seen in a long time! crazy great.
- Dave Alley

‘Sounds like Django Reinhardt, but with more arms’
- Will Saunders
