BYO launch party. Hot on the heels of the premiere of Simon Ogston's documentary about Bill Direen at the NZ International Film Festival (screening times at Events cinema are Fri, 4 Aug 1:45pm. Sat, 5 Aug 1:30pm). Come along to UFO for to celebrate the Ogston doco and enjoy a launch party for the LP Chrysanthemum Storm. The release is a limited edition of 320, thanks to a partnership of German and NZ labels.
Come and party to the original band of 2008, with a special set by Bill Direen with guests, and the night will begin with a mini-doco of footage from the 2008 tour shot by an underground filmmaker on the road with the band. Add to that a short by Paul Janman from his Great South Road epic, signings and other merchandise like books and poems and you have a child-friendly night out in New Lynn. Albums at the launch come with an A3 printed double side poster of lyrics with photos. Note that it's BYO. No drink sales.
