Following the announcement of ‘The Good Fight’ world tour, ODDISEE returns to New Zealand for two shows in Auckland and Wellington.
Oddisee’s latest album ‘The Good Fight’ is his seventh project in eight years, released in May to stellar reviews on Pitchfork, XXL and Complex. The DMV native used his hometown, his family’s native Sudan and his current space, New York City, as influences on the album. Oddisee is set to drop an instrumental project and a fulllength album before the year is out.
Oddisee took his first steps as a beatmaker and a rapper in the basement of a neighbour who played in George Clintons Parliament Funkadelic. In the years since, Oddisee has performed with The Roots, produced for Freeway, Jazzy Jeff, Little Brother, De La Soul & Nikki Jean, and rapped on beats from Flying Lotus, Hudson Mohawke and Kev Brown. Along the way he formed the trio Diamond District with rappers yU and Uptown XO; Odd is the mature figurehead. Resolutely independent, since signing with Mellow Music Group, Oddisee has built a globally trusted brand through his evocative live performances and recordings.
After sold out shows in 2013 as well as releasing three tracks on the Red Bull Studios Prodigy project with up-and-comer Estere; the return of ODDISEE to our shores is set to be even bigger.
