Te Whanganui-a-Tara indie rockers hit the stage to celebrate the release of their long-awaited debut album 'Dark So Soon'. The album features the 3 singles the band have released over the last year: 'Red', 'What You Mean To Me', and 'Fear of Drowning', and was produced by Toby Lloyd (Tiny Triumph Recordings).
The trio, made up of Luke Marlow (lead vocals/guitar), Vincent Waide (guitar/bass/taurus/vocals) and Sean Barker (drums/samples/vocals) made their debut in 2017 and spent a good couple of years playing shows around Wellington before hunkering down to record their album over the last year and a half - the album presents the diverse sound Search For Yeti have become known for, drawing influences from indie rock, britpop, folk and new-wave with an emphasis on hooks and melodies, in particular taking pride in their vocal arrangements. They are excited to bring the layered sound of the album to life on the stage for this show, making use of multiple instruments and samples to create a live sound that is more than what is usually expected from a 3-piece band.
Joining Search For Yeti for this show will be their good friends and regular gig-buddies Harris with their energetic and visceral alt-rock as well as Sig Wilder spinning their unique brand of alt-country. This is a show not to be missed, with three high-quality acts performing memorable songs.
