Wax Chattels Album Release Tour
info_outline This tour has been.
To celebrate the release of their debut album Auckland trio Wax Chattels are taking their “guitarless guitar music” around New Zealand.
After playing together for nearly two-years as a group, including a tour around Asia and performances at Laneway and The Others Way, the band has honed their live-shows into something that is not to be missed - it was after a particularly insane live performance that they were signed by both Captured Tracks and Flying Nun Records on the spot. The band say “we want to play shows that make people feel uncomfortable. The goal is to leave the audience feeling slightly altered, like they have experienced, not just heard or seen something”.
Tour dates:
- 25th May: Dunedin – Crown Hotel
- 26th May: Christchurch – Darkroom
- 1st June: Palmerston North – The Stomach
- 2nd June: Whanganui – Lucky
- 3rd June: Wellington – Meow
- 8th June – Auckland Whammy
What they say about Wax Chattels:
NPR: “Wax Chattels’ ‘In My Mouth’ will shatter you into post-punk surrender”
The405: “Melodic, while also staying ruthlessly heavy”
Lo&Behold Magazine: “Wax Chattels are testing the limits of audiences with their “guitarless guitar music” - think ear splitting drums, punishing time signatures and spiteful lyrics
The album is released internationally on May 18th, and is available in Limited Edition White Vinyl, Black Vinyl, on CD and Cassette. The band will have merchandise available at all shows.
