After toiling away in the studio to carve out her debut album Wellington multi-instrumentalist Vera Ellen has made it available for streaming on Bandcamp. Titled Monte Cassino, the seven-track offering was recorded and mastered by Cameron Wilkes at Palmerston North's The Stomach studio and pulls together elements of Vera's influences, which include the likes of P J Harvey and Joni Mitchell. Despite bearing inspiration from such strong musical muses there is loads of the 19-year-old's own personality and diversity shining through in her experimental alt-pop sound.
