Outer Limits Recordings is the solo project of ex-Test Icicle's member Sam Mehran. The American-born, London-based songwriter is now signed to Transparent Records (who also host the likes of Washed Out, Yuck and Active Child), and has just released a new (20 track!) album called Birds, Bees, Babys, Bacteria. It calls to mind the shimmering psychedelia the likes of Ariel Pink (who actually features on this record) and Unknown Mortal Orchestra have spearheaded over the past few years, and because of that will make an excellent addition to the summer playlist.
