Interview: Zacho Fraser + EP Stream
Wednesday 11th September, 2013 3:26PM
Eight months ago, Zachary Fraser Baxter, a twenty year old singer-songwriter from Devonport in Auckland started periodically slipping out singles on soundcloud under the alias Zacho Fraser. Folding together minimalist folk informed melodic music, barbershop quartet/gospel vocals and the experimental songwriter electronics associated with the likes of James Blake, he's found a gorgeous musical interzone between these influences. Martyn Pepperell caught up with him at a soda bar in central Wellington to talk about his background, influences and processes ahead of the release today of his debut self-titled EP.
