Listen To ZÖ's Dreamy Single 'Ego' Feat. Neil MacLeod
Written as "a reminder to myself to choose love over fear", Pōneke's ZÖ has blessed this Friday with the second single from her sophomore EP Do You Mind?. Melding a vocal tone not unlike Sara Bareilles with her own organic, indie twist on new track 'Ego', ZÖ takes the mood down a notch from the electronic-pop, kick-drum-clap energy of lead single 'Origami'. 'Ego' is introspective, with a massive bed of synth simmering beneath her earnest lyrics and backing vocals from producer and collaborator Neil MacLeod. Reflecting on 'Ego', ZÖ aka Zoe Jennings had this to say:
"I was losing the love I had for creating music because I was so focused on the outcome and what people wanted. This song was created out of letting go of expectations and just enjoying myself."
Sink into the latest from ZÖ, her EP Do You Mind? is due out just next month...
ZÖ's sophomore EP ‘Do You Mind?’ is out independently this August.
