DARTZ Perform 'High At The Beach' - UTR Trash Recital Episode 5
We're stoked to share the fifth episode of our new web series created in collaboration with the talented gang at Sports Team: UTR Trash Recital!
For each episode of Trash Recital we've invited some of our favourite Aotearoa artists into the UTR studios to perform one of their signature songs, re-created using everyday items selected from a treasure trove of literal trash, collected by Sports Team from Tāmaki Makaurau's finest op shops / second hand stores. Trash Recital not only provides a launchpad for stunning reimaginings of recent classic tunes, but also the perfect opportunity for a chinwag with our local musical heroes.
Marking the halfway point of season one in style, we invited Pōneke rising stars DARTZ into our inner city office to reimagine their summer smash hit 'High At The Beach'. An absolutely storming presence live on stage, the team of Danz, Crispy, Rollyz and Clark Mathews will be bringing the party at Tāmaki's all-star Deep Dive 2021 festival on 10th July. They revealed the controversial secret origin of their anthem as they created a brand new version of 'High At The Beach' using measuring cups, cardboard tubes, a gravy bucket, our very popular rubber chicken and more. Watch below and hold onto your hats for episode six in two week's time...
