deepState Shares Single / Video 'Fortune' + Announces EP Release Show
Generating quite the buzz on student radio airwaves via her debut single 'Sunrise' (featured in our NZ Music Month playlist here), Tāmaki electronic artist deepState aka Jessica Morgan has announced there's an entire EP of tunes titled MMXXI set to drop in July via plucky Aotearoa independent imprint Sunreturn. Switching up styles from cosmic house to trip hop reflections, deepState gazes into the future with downtempo second cut 'Fortune', out today along with news of a Whammy Backroom release party on 16th July, featuring special guests Baby Zionov and Van Staden & Böhm. If you can't wait quite that long, you can catch deepState delivering the good stuff next Saturday at Audio Foundation with Strange Stains and Kraus, and at the star-studded Festival Of Sunreturn happening on 12th June [full disclosure: I will also be playing that show]. Grip details for all those events right here and experience the appropriately moody visuals for 'Fortune' below......

Press release:
deepState is the musical project of Jessica Morgan, a musician and songwriter based in Tāmaki Makaurau.
Her music is a blend of House and Electro that sits at a cool 120 bpm, the grit of Trip-Hop, the delays of Ambient Dub and vocal stylings of late 00's Witch House.
To celebrate the release of her debut EP MMXXI, deepState has organised a stacked line up to perform at Whammy Backroom featuring Sunreturn album Baby Zionov, as well as happy hardcore duo Van Staden & Böhm.
$10 pre-sales are available from Undertheradar.co.nz. Tickets will be $20 on the door.
