Premiere: The Situations Share Single 'Lost Angel Divine' + Announce New Album
Auckland guitar-pop gurus The Situations have not only busted out another energetic gem with new single 'Lost Angel Divine', they've also announced their long-awaited third studio album The Day After The Night Before is dropping in July. No strangers to infectious licks and turn-your-mind-upside-down lyrical wordplay, the Papakura group's latest tune is a foot-stomping gas and a half with a sentimental punch, featuring Jonathan Pearce (The Beths, Sal Valentine and the Babyshakes) guesting on piano. We're delighted to premiere 'Lost Angel Divine' here, accompanied by a live reimagining of The Fall's 'Container Drivers' recorded at sadly now-closed Auckland venue Golden Dawn Tavern. The Situations' lyricist Glen Casey lifted the lid on the theme behind the rambling number...
"Lost Angel Divine came out of a Waiheke Island romance. When we tried to move things along it fell apart. We would drink and things would get a touch [blank]. I do love this person and it's okay to move on."
'The Day After The Night Before' will be out in mid-July.
