French Concession Shares World Conquering Collection 'Empress'
Christchurch via Hong Kong electronic artist French Concession aka Ella Chau has shared her latest collection Empress via rising independent label Ball Of Wax. French Concession's fifth EP is inspired by the artist's research into the life of Chinese Empress Dowager Cixi (pronounced 'Chur-See') and gathers together recent singles, the irresistibly dreamy 'Moon Palace', 'Winter Storm' and the title track, alongside two fresh cuts of synth-driven cyber-pop exploring the ruler's "epic life full of drama, intrigue, love and loss." She'll be skipping our winter for a Northern Hemisphere run of shows alongside Indi (Doprah), Mo Chan (Berlin) and Lafidki (UK) - playing in Hong Kong, Germany, Netherlands and Switzerland, listen to Empress below...
