French For Rabbits Announce New Zealand Tour

Hailing from Waikuku Beach north of Christchurch, dream-folk artists French For Rabbits are heading out this May for an intimate tour of "pocket-sized" venues across Aotearoa. The group will be playing tunes from their 2011 debut collection Claimed by the Sea alongside an enticing selection of new material and live favourites. They've shared the stage with none other than pop royal Lorde, who handpicked the band to support her Christchurch performance last year, following the release of their well-received sophomore album The Weight of Melted Snow. Forget aiming big, dream-folk band French for Rabbits are aiming small. They are touring to some pocket-sized venues to share their ethereal music in pin-drop environments.

Last the year the band toured Europe, released their well-received second album ‘The Weight of Melted Snow’ in New Zealand, were handpicked to open for Lorde and topped 11 million listens on Spotify.

On the tour they will be stepping back six years to their debut E.P ‘Claimed by the Sea’ which they will be performing alongside brand new material, and favourites.

The smallest of the shows will be at The Surgery, the beautiful recording studio of sound engineer Lee Prebble. A rare chance to visit the space and experience their music up close.
