Wellington bedroom-pop artist Alexa Casino has released her tongue-twistingly titled debut EP CHEER UP TRY HARD TEAR UP CRY HARD. The five-song EP, which was entirely self produced and recorded, sees the artist invoke a kind of sweet melancholy with lyricism that strikes at the heart while being underpinned by electronic beats. Speaking to WCL blog, Casino said of the new release:

"The lyric ‘cheer up try hard tear up cry hard’ is basically the theme of my life. Trying hard to make the most of little things then getting overwhelmed in a second. The thoughts that get stuck in your head that don’t go away when you’d like them to."
