Listen To 'Tilt Of His Hat' From The Ruby Suns' Upcoming Fifth Album
Indie pop act The Ruby Suns have dropped a fresh single titled ‘Tilt Of His Hat’ as the first taste of upcoming fifth album Sprite Fountain. Featuring trumpet lines and a gunslinger swagger, the percussion-heavy track conjures up images of Pablo Escobar and Che Guevara in a Mexican standoff. Speaking to the song's inspiration band leader Ryan McPhun said:
“In John Steinbeck’s novella 'The Peal', he described a time in which it was possible to ascertain the intentions, disposition or even perhaps the moral character of an individual just by the tilt of his hat. The methods for expressing oneself in public were limited to minutes shifts in brim placement. ‘Tilt of His Hat’ is a cautionary tale of following these social rules and the inevitable emotional and creative constipation that come as a result."
The forthcoming nine-song album will be the first Ruby Suns LP since their highly-acclaimed 2013 record Christopher. Check out 'Tilt Of His Hat' below...
