Hans Pucket throw a party in their hometown of Wellington to celebrate the release of their debut album Eczema w Bright music (Nik Brinkman of Physical and Bevan Smith of Introverted Dancefloor, Glass Vaults)
Eczema is a record of their best tracks from the last two years. Singles Level Headed and Fuck My Life have been remixed and remastered, along with six other brand new songs set to break hearts and mend souls – perfect timing for the death of the NZ summer: the last sweetly innocent blast of unnatural warmth before the guilt and doom of global warming truly sets in next year.
Hans Pucket's classic trio of guitar, bass and drums is nothing new, but the band finds something direct and expressive in their imperfection: vocals and guitars never perfectly in tune and an uncluttered production style crisp around the edges, augmented by guest performances from JY Lee (Yoko Zuna) and William Evans.
Hans Pucket's debut LP is a collection of guitar pop gems about the contradictions of being young. It’s about trying to find your people, breaking your own heart, how uncomfortable it is to be in love when you have no idea what you want. It’s a party record about being tired and jaded and wanting to be alone.
