Christchurch’s surf rock darlings THE WENDYS are back on the road this October for one show only at Dunedin’s Inch Bar.
Dressed as lifeguards to save the musically drowned, THE WENDYS are the drunken threesome love child of Link Wray, Dick Dale and Buddy Holly.
Hailing from Christchurch, New Zealand, The Wendys brand of surf rock and garage punk has been making feet move and butts groove at venues and festivals around the country since 2014.
The band have headlined major international surf comps: The Single Fin Mingle 2015 and 2016 in Sumner NZ, and the Quicksilver Classic ‘16 in Kaikoura, NZ. The Wendys also headlined the Punch Club stage with a blistering set at Nostalgia Festival 2016 alongside Tami Neilson and The Phoenix Foundation.
Ahead of their debut single landing in November 2016 and full length record in February 2017, The Wendys will be playing one show in Dunedin on Saturday 8 October at Inch Bar with local noisey punks The Rothmans.
