A merging of styles, a wedlock of concepts and themes, intricate shades bleed to subtle
shadows. It's not for the faint of heart or the narrow minded. It's for those who like to live on the edge, embracing their passion or purpose and are willing to explore something uncanny.
Something that will move and touch and speak to you. .
Stigmata are celebrating 15 years of Pure Sri Lankan Metal ass kickery and prepared to
unleash their fourth and new Album 'The Ascetic Paradox' this October in Colombo, Sri Lanka and then internationally in New Zealand kick starting the Paradox Tour.
As the premier and pioneering Progressive Metal quintet Stigmata have represented Sri Lanka and headlined festivals in Australia, India, Malaysia, Maldives, Dubai and performed to 30,000 at the Dhaka Army Stadium in Bangladesh. Now for the first time in history Stigmata are the first Sri Lankan Metal band to play in New Zealand in celebration of their 15 years and 4th Album release. .
Stigmata have been featured twice on the Discovery Channel; have had all three of their records 2003's Hollow Dreams, 2006's Silent Chaos Serpentine and 2010's Psalms of Conscious Martyrdom picked as Year End Favorites across the globe.
Stigmata are proudly supported by 18 New Zealand Rock and Metal Bands over two nights in Wellington and Auckland. In Auckland the following bands are also performing. Please check out their pages, videos and music.
See you at the shows m/ m/
Just One Fix
Just One Fix are stalwarts of the New Zealand metal scene. Let Them Hate ... So Long As They Fear is the bands third album and the heaviest and hardest to date.
Embracing the thrash genre in which they garnered their reputation while exploring the depths of doom is a characterisation of the album, from the slow stomp of the opening riff of Proxy God through to the devastating Crushed Beyond Reckoning and ending with 11 minute epic Frazetta Moon this is a band stretching their creative consciousness while staying true to their roots.
Having performed alongside Korn, Megadeth, Fear Factory, Biohazard, Hellyeah and Chimaira amongst others Just One Fix are proof that Noise Zealand churns out international quality metal.
His Masters Voice
https://www.facebook.com/hismastersvoicenz/timeline
Formed late 2012, His Masters Voice are inspired by legends like “Buddy Guy, BB King and Black Sabbath”. Their sound evokes the Classic-Rock greats such as Deep Purple, the Doors and Led Zeppelin, mashed together with a sprinkling of Motown and icons such as the Beatles.
Musically, the band identifies with a new wave of progressive rock/blues such as Graveyard, Blues Pills, Orchid and Heart Attack Alley.
His Masters Voice are a distillation of all things good about rock.
D.I.C
Are one of the pioneering Grindcore/Filthcore bands in New Zealand. They are offensive and disgusting and their songs are written to insult. Their live performance is one no crowd ever forgets easily and with a new lineup they are at the top of their game and ready to take their brand of Grindcore to the masses. Recent shows include Distorted 20 Festival opening for Anvil in Auckland in 2014, headlining GRINDCORE FOR LIFE #2 Festival in Melbourne Australia in May 2015 and a 9 date tour around the North Island of New Zealand in July/August 2015. 2016 sees them venturing off shore again being the first New Zealand band to tour Australasia with Metalliance Touring.
Forsaken Age
Forsaken Age is a celebration of true metal warriors. Drawing on the influence of the heavy metal masters before them, the band has an unflinching view and desire to remain true to Heavy metal.
Black Alpine
Loud, Heavy, Old school Rock n Roll! Bringing the balls back to the Rock Scene, influenced by 70s and 80s Hard Rock. Together since 2013, Black Alpine is a Rocking four piece from Auckland who strive to bring the balls back to the rock music scene. This up and coming rifftastic rock outfit is ready to take the world by storm. A wild show of in-your-face rock’n’roll and attitude that has been lost since the classic rock era. Complete with theatrics and overall extreme energy every night. Black Alpine is not an experience you do not want to miss out on!
Unleash the Kracken – for the first time EVER!
Born of an unholy union between an 80’s Glam Metal Has-Been, and a 90’s Nu Metal Legend, mixed in with far too much Kraken Spiced Rum, and some genuine Middleweight contenders of the Kiwi Metal scene… Bow Down To Your New Demi Gods… UNLEASH THE KRAKEN!''
Brute Earth
A combination of members from other metal bands from Auckland bring together a fusion of styles of metal to showcase an energetic and unrelenting set of brutal passion.
Cheshire Grimm
Hamilton/Melbourne rockers Cheshire Grimm ensure their sophisticated & unique musical backdrop adequately supports the vocals from their duel front women.
The band has continued to build a reputation throughout N.Z & Australia since they appeared in 2012, touring relentlessly and releasing several successful singles, a video & an E.P (which you can hear below).
They are also celebrating this labour weekend by launching a new video for their song K.I.S.S.
Evangel
What started out with three best mates and a little brother brought up on Metallica and Pantera etc. fast forward four years after a break due to traveling, getting married Evangel are back and ready to destroy! Despite living in four corners of New Zealand Evangel are making fast progress and will be a band to watch! Sounds like - Metal tunes with a splash of old school and a chunk of prog every now and then.
