Once again MUM is stoked to present some exceptional Christchurch talent in the form of DOPRAH.
In a new age of prodigiously skilled young bedroom producers, Christchurch-based musician and engineer Steven Marr is among New Zealand's best. Lush with kaleidoscopic synthwork, percussion, strung-out guitars and thick bass, Doprah productions are immersive - equal parts synthetic and organic, euphoric and ominous. With the addition of vocals from the insatiably talented Indira Force, as well as from Marr himself, the results are sensuously thrilling.
The duo's first self-released single 'Whatever You Want' garnered much deserved attention, shooting to the number one spot on the New Zealand Alternative Top 40 chart this May. With a Rip It Up Magazine nomination for Best Youth Act, radio play across the country and internet buzz across the globe the duo set about bringing their music to a live setting in the form of a six-piece band.
