Metalcore pioneers NORMA JEAN to hit New Zealand shores for the first time.
Since their formation in 1997 the Atlanta-born Norma Jean has pushed the boundaries of hardcore music, releasing a slew of seminal releases including 2005’s O God, The Aftermath and their most recent Meridional in 2010. One of the real pioneering bands on the metalcore scene, the band have earned a serious reputation for the pummeling brand of very heavy fare & an exciting live show. As of late the band are holed up in the studio with producer Joshua Barber working on their highly-anticipated new album, which is due for release sometime in 2013.
Joining Norma Jean on both dates will be recently reformed Auckland based post-hardcore act Cold By Winter. A name well recognised in the New Zealand heavy music scene even though their last show was over 2 years ago. These shows will see the first return of the melodic monster that is Cold By Winter – destroying stages and reminding fans new and old why they own the original crowns of melodic post-hardcore in NZ.
Literally coming straight off the plane to the first venue will be Antagonist A.D. - having just landed from their first trip to America (having undertaken two back to back tours there). These two dates will be a short stop in amidst a world tour for the lads - heading to Australia shortly after & then onto a run of European dates with Parkway Drive (Aus.) & Deez Nuts (Aus.). Following there latest album Nothing From No One released worldwide by Los Angeles based label Mediaskare Record – the band continues to grow and carry the flag worldwide for New Zealand heavy music.
With well regarded local acts such as Decortica (Kings Arms Only) & Newayhome (Kings Arms Only) completing the shows – these will be shows will be something to remember!
